Summertime CBD Bar Hop!

We’ve mapped out how you can cool down in Napier’s CBD this Summer!

Summertime temperatures in Hawke’s Bay are hot hot hot so its important to keep cool and rehydrate while enjoying all the activities our Napier CBD has to offer.

The whole family is covered with 12 bars, all within walking distance. Cocktails, mocktails, local wines, locally crafted beers, and delicious sodas for the kids and drivers.

Starting up on Marine Parade are Three Wise Birds, Portside. Making your way down Browning Street, you will find Churchhill’s Champayne Bar within the County Hotel. Along the road, a bit on Herschell Street, the brightly lit up Matisse Wine Bar will welcome you with its well-thought-out selection of Hawkes Bay, national, and international wines.

Making your way down Herschell Street, you will find on the corner The Globe Bar and Restaurant and along further Lone Star at home in the old historic T and G building. If craft beer is your cool-down refreshment choice,  make your way to Rogue Hop Speakeasy 113 Hastings Street and order yourself a flight of tastes to help you decide your favourite, or pop along Hastings Street to The Rose Irish Pub and get yourself a handle of Guinness or Kilkenny on tap.

Hastings St is also the home of Indigo 2.0 where you find New Zealand’s most extensive Whiskey range and a wide range of gins and other spirits.

Monica Loves tucked down a laneway off Tennyson Street. Look for the big neon sign ‘who shot the barman,’ and you’ll be in the right place to enjoy top-class cocktails, wines, and craft beers. Market Street Bar and Eatery is uber cool and a very popular bar in the centre of the CBD for locals and visitors.  Their eat, drink, repeat byline oozes their hospitality and service style and is a place you always want to return to.

By day Georgia on Tennyson is one of the most popular coffee spots in the CBD, and now, by night, on Thursdays and Fridays, they are a wine bar serving up local Hawkes Bay wines in the sunshine.

Lastly, Teresa Cocktail Bar is the newest kid on the block and one of the most recognised cocktail bars nationally and globally. With only 25 seats, they only take walk-ins, and it can be hard at times hard to find a seat, but you must wait or come back, as their world-class cocktail list is not to be missed. Or just get there at the opening time, which is 5 pm Tuesday to Thursday and 4 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

ENJOY!
