Nuit Blanche 2023 – Art After Dark

Get ready for a street party like no other when Nuit Blanche returns to light up Napier City!

For one evening only, a celebration of contemporary art takes over the Arts Quarter, transforming its streets and secret spaces with remarkable works and unique performances.

With back alleys, carparks and laneways becoming stages and art galleries, gather your friends and family to discover high-energy, dazzling performances and magical encounters on every corner.
Start early and book to see a free performance of the phenomenal 360 ALLSTARS at the Napier Municipal Theatre. This explosive hour of supercharged urban circus sets the scene for a night!

Picnic Cinema – Screening ‘ShowMeShorts’ – whānau friendly short films
Kereama Taepa – a fabulous, specially commissioned digital projection on Waiapu Cathedral by this acclaimed artist
The People’s Oracle – ask a question and receive an answer steeped in community wisdom
Raku Firings live from the Waiohiki Arts Village Potters
Laser Show by Boom Factory
Hawke’s Bay Soul Choir
Zane and Degge – Laser Kiwi with their own brand of surreal circus
Sean and Heidi – Napier’s own street performers

Sound Selector/ Niva – will get you dancing all night

Meet the artists and interact with each gallery’s unique presentation for the night, and be sure to visit Wardini Books for a late-night experience. Enjoy great dining options from established restaurants, cafès and bars and a special Food Truck Eat Street in Hastings Street.
