Innovate Napier: Cyber Security

By   Arlene Crispin   -  July 31 / 2023

How many of you have been a victim of scamming or your cyber security has been compromised?

Come and learn from leading cybersecurity specialist Tony Krzyzewski on how to protect your business because, on the internet, you are just a number waiting to become a statistic.

Hawkes Bay resident Tony Krzyzewski has been involved with cybersecurity for the past 27 years. He and his wife, Jackie manage the online SAM for Compliance cybersecurity assessment service from their base in Bridge Pa and run the Cybersecurity Improvement Programme for New Zealand Local Government.

Tony is a contributor to the development of the Center for Internet Security Critical Cyber Controls, which are used by hundreds of thousands of organisations across the planet to help reduce cybersecurity-related risk. He is one of four CIS Controls Ambassadors and helps promote the use of CIS Controls in Government, Local Government and Commercial enterprises.

He is an Ambassador for the Global Cyber Alliance and sits on the Alliance’s Strategic Advisory Council. This non-profit organisation, founded by the Center for Internet Security, the City of London Police and the Office of the District Attorney of New York, creates free tools and resources for use by organisations and individuals to reduce cybersecurity risk and harm.

Tony is the New Zealand Convenor for ISO SC27. In this role, he holds New Zealand’s vote at the International Standards Organisation for all Cybersecurity, Information Security and Privacy Protection standards.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of IT Professionals, and when he is not busy with cybersecurity-related matters can frequently be found driving his steam locomotive at the Keirunga Park Railway in Havelock North, where he holds the position of Secretary.

Napier City Business Inc, Napier City Council, and Napier Port have jointly organised Innovate Napier, a winter business breakfast series that focuses on topics relevant to multinationals through to sole traders.

Come along and hear from our inspirational speaker over a hot cuppa and delicious brekky, Friday 21 July from 7:15am-9am, at the Napier War Memorial Centre. Grab a ticket or table today! Brekky will be served at 7.15 am with our guest speaker starting at 7.45 am.
