Napier City Business Inc General Manager Pip Thompson wants everyone to pause and celebrate Valentine’s Day 2.0 with kindness, thankfulness, and connection and sprinkle love throughout our region.  

“This time round, it’s not just for lovers! We want family, friends, colleagues, strangers and lovers to share and show the love too!”

Thompson says it’s also an opportunity to thank those who have supported them since the cyclone, and the initiative will bring warmth and vibrancy to a midweek winter Wednesday day/evening.

“We encourage the community to book dinner at one of the local restaurants, share a drink at their local, celebrate with flowers and or a gift, shout a colleague/team coffee and cake or simply do a random act of kindness.”

There will be daily giveaways offered on Napier City’s social media pages seven days prior (combined value approx. $2,000), and The Hits Hawke’s Bay breakfast show will be running a competition to enter a ‘Day out in Napier’ for four people valued at $1000.  All are generously donated by Napier CBD businesses.  Text nominations for the major prize can be entered by anyone sharing a story of love, kindness and connections made in the last four months while navigating their lives post-cyclone.   Giveaway links – Facebook  Instagram
