Cyclone Gabrielle – Monday afternoon to Wednesday Afternoon

With heavy rain and high winds forecasted from this afternoon for approximately 48 hours, please take precautions for yourself and your staff to stay safe. Most retail stores have been open this morning but reassessing from lunchtime to mid-afternoon.
There are a few tourists around; however, town is very quiet. Many office staff have been advised to work from home.
Napier City Council will closely monitor water levels and close CBD roads if flooding occurs.

If your red rubbish bins are kerbside, which shouldn’t be, please take them indoors.
We will update tomorrow on Wednesday’s kerbside collections for cardboard and rubbish. Depending on the weather, these may be cancelled.

Please keep yourself up to date and take advice from the HB Civil Defence Emergency Facebook Page or their website. Alternatively, the Napier City Council Facebook Page.
