Meet the team behind Hōhepa Creative Works – a vibrant group of makers, artists, and creatives who bring care, colour, and purpose to everything they do.
Part of the wider Hōhepa community, this Napier-based crew creates beeswax candles, textiles, and eco-friendly toys – each one crafted with heart by people with intellectual disabilities, supported to live meaningful, connected lives. Whether it’s weaving, sewing, dipping candles or packaging toys, the team works with joy and pride – and it shows in every piece.

For a fancy all-inclusive snack, we love the Hapī ice cream!
DRINK
Cappadonna Café serves its yummy hot chocolate with marshmallows. For something extra special, dipping into Teresa Cocktail Bar after work swathes you in big-city atmosphere and exceptional drinks.
SHOP
Our team loves the magazine section and colouring-in books at Whitcoulls, picking up little gifts from The Crystal Cave, browsing EB Games for fun finds, and hunting out surprises at the Cranford Hospice op-shop on Dickens Street.
PLAY/SEE/DO
We love to cool our feet in the Tom Parker Fountain after a walk to the top of Tiffen Park, where the view over Napier and the bay is beautiful.
