From Bedroom Dream to Real-Life Pop-Up: Jett’s BuRGer Shop Hits Napier
Napier City is about to get its tastiest (and cutest) new addition, all thanks to a very creative 7-year-old.
Introducing Jett’s BuRGer Shop is launching Friday 15 August from 4:30pm at Roam Hawke’s Bay on Marine Parade and is set to run every Friday.
Jett is the son of Roam owner Brad Simpson, and for a long time he’s been honing his skills in his very own bedroom kitchen – complete with a Kmart play setup, hand-drawn signage, and top-tier service. “We’ve been treated to some very memorable dining experiences in his room, where he pretends to work like Dad.” says Brad.
“A few months ago he asked if I thought Jett’s BuRGer Shop would be cool…and I figured, let’s find out,”
Now, the dream becomes real. Jett’s imaginary restaurant is springing to life with a menu for both kids and grown-ups, burgers and more made from Hawke’s Bay’s finest local ingredients – all cooked by Dad. Plus drink specials for all ages, an early start time for hungry families, and a few sweet surprises to finish, all served in a fun, welcoming environment.
“How long it’ll run will depend on how it goes,” Brad says. “But right now, it’s just a really cool little part of my working life that I get to share with my son.”
Napier City Business Inc. is proud to support ideas like this. Big-hearted, small-scale moments that bring people into the CBD and show off just how creative and community-minded our locals are.
“This is exactly the kind of magic we love to see,” says NCBI General Manager Pip Thompson. “It’s fun, it’s local, and it’s proof that good ideas (and great burgers) can come from anywhere – even a kid’s bedroom.”
Come hungry, bring the fam, and help make one kid’s burger dreams come true. No bookings, just turn up and enjoy.
