A New Approach to Fashion Events in 2025

Following feedback from the 2024 Fashion Parade, we know many of you didn’t see the financial impact you had hoped for. Given the investment Napier City Business Inc. (NCBI) puts into these events, we want to ensure they drive real value – not just in visibility but in actual sales for your business.

We’re rethinking Napier’s fashion scene and we want your input! Instead of a one-off event, we’re exploring ways to create bigger, better opportunities to drive foot traffic, sales, and excitement around fashion in the city. 

With the traditional Fashion Parade off the table, we’re looking to create something fresh, engaging, and more impactful for your business. Which concept excites you most? What do you need from us to make it successful?

Which event concept excites you the most? *

• Napier Fashion Week – A dedicated fashion season (one week, or one month if we can sustain the activity) with in-store activations. Retailers promote deals and events all week such as in-store showcases, styling sessions, promotions, new-season try-ons, giveaways etc, along with discounts and deals. This could include collaboration with local hospitality businesses for signature designer drinks & dishes promoted throughout the month. This could include an evening event at the end of the week to encourage crowds & city vibes.
• Fashion in the City – A monthly late-night shopping event on the last Thursday of every month: Fashion in the City. This is a retail event where fashion retailers stay open til 7/8pm with style showcases, one-night only deals, giveaways and promotions. The evenings could be supported with a Fashion Fiesta hosted on Emerson Street. Running from 4-9pm, this features music, food trucks and designer drinks in collaboration with local hospo businesses.
