Trade Waste and Wasterwater Drainage Bylaws

By   Pip   -  May 4 / 2022

The Trade Waste and Wastewater Drainage Bylaws

are being brought together to provide an updated and enhanced regulatory framework.

This will provide for better environmental protection and support the health of Te Whanganui a Orotū / Ahuriri Estuary.

The proposed Bylaw will raise the standard of pre-treatment required and more fairly distribute the cost of maintaining the wastewater network.

Napier City Council are seeking the community’s feedback on:

• Expanding Trade Waste consenting coverage ( this includes Napier’s CBD)
• Introducing a revised charging model
• The use of WasteTrack for liquid waste operators
• Grease trap regulations
• Phasing the implementation of any new regulations.

To give them your feedback on the Trade Waste and Wastewater Bylaw please visit www.sayitnapier.nz.

The consultation closes at 5 pm, 25 May.
